ARENA
A year and half later the excitement began! In October 2003 the plant machinery arrived and the enormous digging machines scraped the first soil off the top of our lovely 20 acre field.
EVENTS HELD IN THE ARENA SINCE ITS CONCEPTION Over the last few years we have had numerous events held in the arena here at Sycamores. We have had Dressage events, Western Shows, Showjumping, Western clinics, Fun rides and more! All of these events have gone down extremely well and we hope to hold more and more every year. ARENA FACILITIES Situated a short drive off the main A40 at Canaston bridge there is easy access for all sizes of horse transportation. The Sycamores Ranch arena measures a staggering 100m x 50m wide and has a 5m shingle walk-way and viewing track all the way around it. Although the arena is not covered the surface that has been used is an all weather durable Cushion Ride which has been used in other establishments such as David Brooms and it has also been used on many National Race Tracks. In order to reduce wind and weather elements the Arena is totally surrounded with high banks which in the future may be adapted to provide terraced seating. In the future other facilities will be provided within the arena banking such as permanent toilet and showr facilities. Viewing gallery. There currently is catering facilities, toilets, lighting a PA system with cordless head set mikes which are ideal for giving riding lessons and are available to freelance instructors hiring the arena. Due to the size of the riding surface it is possible to subdivide the arena into various areas to suit the users requirements. The arena is available for hire by the hour by either individuals or by groups or by pony club associations. It is also available for hire by show event organizers. NB CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS SHOULD ENQUIRE AS WE MAY NOT EVEN CHARGE YOU TO USE THE ARENA. The Arena will also throughout the years to play host to its own shows and attractions which will include Wild West Displays and Events and others. It is hoped the W.E.S (Western Equestrian Society) will base an exciting and new program of events to be held in the arena thus for the first time seriously opening up South West Wales to the budding western rider by holding clinics and various Western Shows.
