TRAIL RIDES

If you're already a horse rider, you'll love the freedom of a western style trail ride on our responsive mounts - something exciting and different to try and far more relaxed than the traditional English style - you'll probably find the saddles more comfortable too!

Sycamores Ranch trail rides will take you along ancient bridle ways in some of the best out riding to be found in West Wales and you'll take in some stunning open countryside, completely hidden from public access.  Our seasoned trail horses are friendly, trustworthy and valued members of the Ranch.  They are led by our experienced Ranch Wranglers who are there to supervise the smooth running of the rides and make your time with us an enjoyable one!!

Whether you are a total beginner or an advanced rider, one of the following rides will suit your needs:-

JACKAROO TRAIL For total beginners, a 1 hour walk only trail through beautiful woodland and quiet lanes.  Riders may have to be led and this trail is limited to a maximum of five beginners.

CITY SLICKERS TRAIL  For intermediate riders, a 1 1/2 hour walk and jog ride encompassing woodland, quiet lanes and river views.

PRICE: £35.00

WRANGLERS TRAIL  For the more experienced riders, a 2 hour walk, jog and lope ride encircling the historic village of Llawhaden traveling along bridle ways through woodland, rivers and streams.

PRICE: £45.00

RUSTLERS TRAIL  A 3 hour walk, jog and lope ride around the beautiful local countryside, with a stop for lunch at historic Llawhaden Castle.  A chance to soak up some history!

PRICE: £60.00

BUCKAROO TRAIL  For the more adventurous! A 4 hour walk, jog and lope ride through scenic bridle ways, woodlands, rivers and streams, stopping off for lunch in Canaston Woods.  Enjoy the scenery!

PRICE: £80.00

RANCHERS TRAIL  For the real pro! Brush 'em down, saddle 'em up and head 'em out! A whole day trail discovering the fabulous Pembrokeshire countryside.  On your arrival you'll be "buddied up" with your mount who you will brush down and saddle up.  The trail will take you through woodlands, bridle ways, rivers and streams.  With a "rest up" for some lunch in Canaston Woods, onto Blackpool Mill for a look around the museum, returning to the Ranch at the end of the day for a well earned rest!

SUNDOWN TRAIL  Between the months of July and August, why not try our evening trails? A relaxing ride as the sun goes down, stopping off for an evening meal at a local restaurant and returning to the Ranch to bed the horses down for the night. (This ride is for group bookings only of at least 8 riders) Includes farmhouse refreshments, evening meal and all soft drinks, alcoholic drinks may be purchased separately.

RIDING ATTIRE

You should wear comfortable jeans, footwear with heels and bring along a waterproof coat (hopefully not required).  You will also need to bring a packed lunch for the Rustler, Buckaroo or Ranchers Trails.  Please bring a British Standard recognised hat if you have one, although we are happy to supply hats.

We at Sycamores Ranch pride ourselves on the dedication of our staff and trail leaders. Most of our staff are seasonal and are here with us on a temporary basis.

The task of taking trail rides out as you can image can be very stressful indeed and hard work.   The high responsibility involved in ensuring the safety of all the riders on the trail and also at the same time hoping to make the experience enjoyable and memorable for all is not something that everyone can achieve.

However with always a beaming smile and good sense of humour we hope that our staff will make your visit all the more pleasurable.
